Rebates
Medicare: Individual clients who have a Mental Health Treatment Plan from their GP can receive a Medicare rebate of $141.85 for each session provided by a Clinical Psychologist. This leaves a Gap payment of $138.15.
Note: Couples Therapy sessions do not qualify for Medicare rebates.
Private Health Insurance: Some Private Health Insurance Funds provide a rebate for psychological services. It is recommended that clients contact their Private Health Fund to clarify whether they have access to a rebate.
Referrals
A referral is not required to make an appointment with Resilience Clinical Psychology, however if you would like to access a Medicare rebate you will require a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP.To access Medicare rebates clients will need to consult with their GP about their psychological concerns and suitability for a Mental Health Treatment Plan. Under this Plan a GP can provide:
- A Plan and referral letter for the client to access an initial 6 Medicare rebated psychological therapy sessions.
- If further support is required, a GP can provide a Review to enable access to a further 4 Medicare rebated sessions.
A Mental Health Treatment Plan may therefore provide access to 10 Medicare rebated sessions per calendar year.
Cancellation policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please do so more than 24 hours before your session. A cancellation fee equal to the full session fee will be applied to cancellations made within 24 hours.
